MD Skincare has launched its Hydra-Pure Collection, which it claims is the first product range in the skincare market that contains chelators.
Chelators are an organic complex that engulf and sequester the heavy metals on the surface of the skin, preventing damage and enhancing the efficacy of other skincare products, said a statement.
Dr Dennis Gross, Manhattan dermatologist, creator of the MD Skincare brand and author of the book 'Your Future Face' predicts that an introduction of chelators into skincare products could be as important as sunscreen.
Dr Dennis Gross indicates that heavy metals found in tap water are actually free radicals themselves which break down collagen and may lead to wrinkles. Tap water contains heavy metals such as iron, copper, magnesium, lead and zinc. These elements build up on the skin’s surface contributing to many dermatologic problems including acne, rosacea, irritation, inflammation and aging.
“If you are unlucky enough to be exposed to bad water on a regular basis, your skin can suffer the same kind of damage, although to a lesser degree, as sitting in the sun with suboptimal protection,” said Dr Gross.
The Hydra-Pure Collection is an ideal Valentine’s Day gift, according to MD Skincare’s local distributor; Spa Resources International in Dubai.-TradeArabia News Service
